The Manhattan Beach Lodge where the atmosphere and facilities make it
the perfect destination for your private or small group getaway.
Looking back to the 1920's when the site was selected for the
Manhattan Beach Lodge, it is easy to imagine the solitude and
splendor of the pine woods and crystal clear lakes along with the
magnificent sunset views. The slightly elevated shoreline and sand
beach promised a perfect vacation setting for anxious travelers
from throughout the Midwest.
That promise continued to be kept as the
appeal of a Northwoods vacation spread nationwide in the 30's and
40's. The Lodge hosted Hollywood's famous and Chicago's infamous with
equal dedication. A blend of rustic ease and civilized amenities
became the hallmark of Lodge hospitality.
Today, as you watch an eagle soaring overhead, catch a
trophy walleye, snowmobile into the back country, or just watch the
sun set into Big Trout Lake, you recognize that The Manhattan Beach
Lodge offers a unique getaway with the same unspoiled woods and waters
as seventy years ago. As you enjoy dinner in front of the original
stone fireplace amid the restored cedar log work, you help write
another chapter in the colorful history of The Lodge.
As always, your stay at The Lodge will offer an opportunity
to enjoy the spectacular lakes area of Minnesota with the comforts of
home.
The Manhattan Beach Lodge is located on the
Whitefish Chain of Lakes 25 miles north of Brainerd, Minnesota.
The 1920's landmark was renovated in 1995 and the 18 lakeside
guest rooms offer an intimate alternative for couples or small
group getaways. The handmade log furniture, great stone fireplace,
acclaimed restaurant, and dramatic sunsets all complement the
country inn feel of The Lodge. The Lodge Staff will assist visitors with sight-seeing
and shopping information, tee times, cross country skiing, or hiking and
biking trails through our pristine north woods. |
